New Delhi

Corbett National Park: Corbett national Park is located in the state of Uttranchal in the Himalayan Region of India. Corbett is home to several fauna and avifauna, rare to find elsewhere. The Jim Corbett National Park is home to about 110 tree species, 50 mammals species, 600 bird species and 25 reptile species. Corbett being set in the natural surroundings of the Uttaranchal is the perfect place for the nature lovers.

Sariska National Park: This is another Wildlife Sanctuary situated close to the national capital - New Delhi. Set in the royal land of Rajasthan, this diverse wildlife is a wonderful example of ecological adoption and tolerance, for the climate here is flexible as well as erratic. The park falls on the Golden Triangle route of India and can be approached by two most luxurious trains of the world - the palace on Wheels and the Fairy Queen. Mumbai

Tadoba National Park: Tadoba National Park is a bird lover's delight, Situated in Maharashtra about 208 km from Nagpur and 45 km from Chandrapur, the park is the best place in Maharashtra to view water birds. A large park featuring mixed teak forests and a lake, with night viewing available to see its large wildlife populations. These include tiger, leopard, gaur, nilgai, sambar and chital.

Krishnagiri Upavan National Park(Borivali National park), Maharashtra: About 20 km from Mumbai airport and 3 km from Borivili railhead, the park is rich in bird stock. Krishnagiri Upavan national park formerly known as Borivili national park, protects an important and scenic area close to Bombay and other attractions. Amongst the smaller types of wildlife to be seen are a variety of waterbirds. The best time is from October to June.

Gir National Park: The home of lions - Gir National Park is the most ideal place if you are here to observe Lions. Gir is not just about Lions, the second most seen predator in the Gir is Leopard. In fact, Gir is also home to one of the largest Leopard populations in any park in India, and especially in the hotter season they can sometimes be seen at night close to the tourist lodges. Other animal residents of the Gir national park are Sambar, Chital, Nilgai, Chowsingha, Chinkara Gazelle, Wild Boar, Langur, Jackal, Panthers, Wild Cats and Hares and Hyena. The suitable climatic conditions prevalent within the park has made it a home for a large number of bird species.

Banglore

Nagarhole National Park: Location in Karnataka, the Nagarhole National Park is in an area of 643.39 sq km. At Nagarhole there are excellent facilities for viewing wildlife and large groups of gaur, elephant, sambar, chital and even the occasional tiger or leopard are seen. Among other mammals are the muntjac, the tiny mouse deer, wild boar, pangolin, giant squirrel, slender loris, langurs and macaques. The Park has about 250 species of birds and the Malabar trogan, the Malabar Herd of elephants pied hornbill, the great black woodpecker, the Indian pitta and

the green imperial pigeon are part of its avian variety. Lesser cats like the jungle cat, leopard cat and rusty spotted cat are also resident species.

Bandipur National Park: If you are heading towards south then visit Bandipur National Park in Karnataka. Bandipur National Park starts blooming with the arrival of pre-monsoon showers in the month of April. This park is home to many birds and animals. The charming surroundings, the rare inhabitants, the pleasant climate and the closeness to several astounding destinations of the south, Bandipur is the most perfect place for one who is iuntersted in all. You will come to see elephants, gaurs, and some beautiful birds in its surroundings.

Periyar National Park: Situated in the south India state of Kerala, Periyar National Park is home to diverse range of wildlife. The animals you will find here are Elephants, Tigers, Gaur, Wild Pigs, Sambar, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer, Dole or Indian Wild Dog. There are, now, an estimated 40 tigers in the Periyar national Park. Four species of primates found at Periyar are - the rare lion-tailed macaque, the Nilgiri Langur, Common Langur And Bonnet Macaque. Periyar also inhabits the elusive Nilgiri Tahr, which is rarely seen here. The birdlife includes - Darters, Cormorants, Kingfishers, the great Malabar Hornbill and racket-tailed Drongoes. Another attraction in Periyar is the Periyar Lake.

Ahemdabad

Little Rann of Kutch Wildlife Sanctuary: About 195 km from Ahmedabad is the Little Rannof Kutch Wildlife Sanctuary in the state of Gujarat. The sanctuary is home to wild ass (Khur). A variety of desert life can be found here, notably the surviving herds of the Indian wild ass(khur); also wolf and caracal (a large, pale cat with tufted ears).

Ratan Mahal Sloth Bear Sanctuary: Ratan Mahal Sloth Bear Sanctuary is home to Sloth bears (57 as per the latest census), panthers (9), large-size monkeys (900), langoors (800), jackals (100), antelopes (four) and hyenas (8), besides others numerous jungle cats, foxes, honey badgers, hare, porcupines and reptiles. To believe the beauty of flora and birds (120 species) you got to visit this place.

Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary: Gujarat has some outstanding places for viewing birds of the wetlands. Just 80 km from Ahmedabad is Nalsarovar. Nalsarovar is a seasonal lake spread over an area of 115 sq km. It is known to harbour more than 250 species of birds. In winter the migratory birds descend on the Nalsarovar in their thousands. Visitors are ferried in small boats and to view the sunrise and sunset while cruising gently through the silent waters, with birds silhouetted in the golden orange glow will lift any sagging spirits.
